  33. First, I think we've got to move those Flyer talks to the toaster-l list,
  34. some people are getting nasty here about crowding the lightwave list with
  35. "non-related" mail.  So I am forwarding this post to the toaster-l list.

  37. Regarding your question, here is what I am expecting with the Flyer and its
  38. support for time code.  My whishes are listed in priority order:

  40. 1- Capture of the digitized video segments time code information
  41.  
  42. 2- Possibility to automatically batch redigitize all the video footage involved
  43. in the edit master at a different quality level.  This is certainly the most
  44. valuable feature since it will save a lot of hard drive space and facilitate
  45. drives management when working with several projects at a time or with other
  46. users.  Lets not forget that the money people will have to pay to have a really
  47. workable configuration (let say at least 2 x 8Gig hard drives) is mosly going to
  48. be consumed by the drives purchase.  However drives prices are falling down
  49. rapidly and if a technology breakthrough occurs that may not become a real issue.

  51. 3- Possibility to print out an EDL showing the clips original TC (not the edit
  52. master one), the original reel number.  Also, it would be nice to printout
  53. an EDL in a storyboard form where each video cut would be represented by
  54. an icon (actual video frame) a la AVID.
